This post goes out to a good friend of mine: Brad Kenseth.
The background story goes that Brad and I met in choir our Jr. years. We had our ups and downs, as most friends do...some worse than others, but we pulled through it okay. He really stepped up to the plate the week Haly died and was there 100% for me.
All through out high school, I was never attracted to Brad, though for a while I thought he was to me. There was also the fact that a lot of people thought he was gay. Now, my gay-dar SUCKS and anyway, Brad was Brad; I'd love him no matter what.
About the time I was leaving for Utah, I discovered that Brad had run away. Malia and Emil took him to the Reno airport one day, and no one heard from him after that. He also deleted his Facebook, and his phone number. I started to worry so I emailed his cousin.
She told me that Brad had finally accepted himself and what the rest of us kinda, sorta, already knew. But since he had been in denial for so long, he was sure no one could accept that Brad is, in fact, gay. He wrote a letter to his dad, explaining that he was safe in Massachusetts and would come back into contact with everyone when he was ready.
So this post is for you, Bradley Benjamin Kenseth Jr. Gay, straight, single or taken, you are still my friend. I miss you. So, if for some bazaar reason you ever read this, just know I miss my choir buddy/graduation walking partner. Come back to us soon.
Love aways, Aubz
