murder?

Yeah. I know it's a harsh word. But we kinda killed Odin. Mike totally spaced that we had a fish and turned the heat all the way down when we staid at his parents for 2 days dog/house sitting.
And this morning...Odin was belly up.
It was kinda cute how Mike couldn't bring himself to be the one to scoop him out of his bowl and flush him. So, I did it. I wonder if this is the start of a trend...?

Sounds Legit...

Ok, so for my sorta, not really, weekly update on that -2 jean sizes thing, I bring you a whole new game plan...ready? Ok!
Today, my mom helped me make potato salad for the Inventory Potluck at work Friday and while we were cooking, she started telling me about this diet she's started...and lost 5 lbs the first week. She kinda had me sold there. It's called Va-Salus and it's a shake based diet. A girl in our Ward is a Rep for them. My mom then made me a shake and dispite the fact that it was a little ice chunky (mom has a new blender, it's not her fault) it was super good. Also, they have things you can add for flavor, like chocolate and peanut butter (that was mine today!) or fruit, ect... The diet she is on is one shake for breakfast, one for lunch, healthy snaking inbetween and then WHATEVER she wants for dinner. Did I mention she lost 5 pounds the first week?
Also, she's been walking everyday with Amanda Miller. But they say that the diet is supposed to work, even without the exersise. And that's my problem: the exersise. So my mom said I can take the little trampoline she got back before I was even born, and act the fool on it. Well, that's what I'm calling it. She said back in the first summer she and my dad were married, she jumped, jogged in place and danced on that trampoline for an hour a day to music. Exersise? Sounds more like fun to me!!
So tomorrow or Sunday, we'll get a blender from Melis and David Derby, who got one too many blenders as compared to Mike and I who got...none. And then, after I get my first bag and little taste fillers for the shakes, I will begin!!
Now I just need to make myself a good "Acting the Fool" playlist. Hmmmm....

PS: here's the Vi-Salus site if anyone else is interested http://visalus.com/about/about-visalus/

HIMYM

I started watching "How I Met Your Mother" and got half way through the second season right before I had to cancel our Netfix. But this clip, hands down, was my favorite part. I laughed forever!!

Love, love Barney and his Barney-isms.

Those goals we set at New Years...

So, I had a New Years resolution. And it was to lose 2 jean sizes by the time I turn 21.
Well, I shouldn't say had and was, I should say have and is. Positive thinking, right?

The plan is to eventually get up to jogging the 3.5  miles I've mapped out from the Bice house to ours.  Everyday. But since I love sleep and it's pretty darn cold out there when the sun don't shine...it will have to remain at a "on my days off" bases until it gets warmer and the sun starts setting later. Unfortunately, with the CAG in town, that means my days off are a random day of the week and Sundays.

Hey, maybe spring and summer will come fast. Winter already thinks it's spring anyways!! Seriously, it's been 60 degrees here all week.

I don't know if I'll be able to take Riley once I get up to a jog...because the two times I got up to a jog on my walk this morning, he got really excited and almost tripped me up. Maybe. I don't know. We'll see.

But see, positive thinking!! And once a week, I promise to post something on here, and update or something about my walking/jogging/ hopefully dropping 2 jean sizes!!

I have 7 months to do it. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...  :)

I think...

So, today I decided that I will continue to go grocery shopping with my mother.
When I go with her, I tend to only buy the things I need and less of the junk I want.
Huzzah for only $54 spent on food today!! (Mom, we'll pay you back next paycheck)
I LOVE MY MOMMA!!

What is a CAG, you ask?

Just kidding...no one really asked. But, just in case someone, somewhere, actually reads this and wanted to know, I'm going to tell you...

CAGs are Carrier Air Groups that come to NAS Fallon in groups ranging from 150 guys to 300. (The 300 guys groups are the ones we like!) If it wasn't for the CAGs, I think the NEX would not exist. Anyways, they come out here so the pilots can train to fly and bomb out at our bombing range. And, you can't have a pilot without all of his crew men...thus the total guys is around 300.
Oh, a huge by the way...have any of you ever seen the movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise and Val Kilmar? Well, if so, would it surprise you to know that Top Gun is no longer located in Miramar, California? NOPE!! The Top Gun school is now located at NAS Fallon in little old, Fallon Nevada. Is having Top Gun located at your base anything like is was shown in the movie? Well, for a little ol' Sales Clerk at the local Navy Exchange...nope again.
Anyways, when they come to town the pilots fly, they bring their crews to load bombs and clean the planes and then they run amuck through out town. But work hours go WAY up. We get CAGs from all over the US and we even get some foreigners in too. Like last month we had about 50 Germans. I like the guys from out of country because they are polite to the working people. Most of the American guys are kinda  jerks because our Navy Exchange isn't as "cool" as theirs and they think Fallon is stupid with nothing to do (which is kinda true...)

So that answers they question of CAGs!!

We used to be friends...

So, some of you (if anyone at all; DOES ANYONE READ THIS??) may have seen that I'm taking a Facebook break. And I'm dead serious about this one. I'm logged off, it's not a homepage and it's not even a quick link anymore. NO MORE FACEBOOK FOR ME until November 19th!!
How did this come about? Well, last night, I was laying in bed after another night of a movies (well, this night was more like an "attempt". Mike wanted me to watch Black Hawk Down and I barely made it half way through). Anyways, I was laying there and I suddenly turned to Mike and I said "I don't really have very many friends."
And you know what the buggar said?
"No, you really don't..." (NOT HELPING) "...but neither do I."
So, I decided that in an attempt to remidy this, I'm taking a Facebook break and am going to use what used to be "Facebook time" as "friend time" and try to be a better friend to those few I have left. And, maybe, make more friends?
It's funny though. In an attempt to have better friendships, I'm pushing soical networking away. Kinda ironic, isn't it. But, those friendships on Facebook aren't really "friendships". I have over 350 friends on there and I don't know half of them half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of them half as well as they deserve.
Yeah...I just went there.
Anywho, it doesn't mean I'm taking a blogging break. Something is bound to pop up in between now and then that I will deem blogging worthy (I hope)

Dreams and testimonies...

Almost but not quite two years. I'm going to post something on that day, so more then but for now, just this.
We've had some problems with some of Haly's friend's telling us that she is "visiting" them in their dreams. To the point that it was kind of upsetting. (This was part of the reason we had to delete her memorial page of FB). So, because of that, I was a little unsure of how to approach the dream I had about her the other night.
It was a normal dream, where everything is NOT normal. But parts were stressful and in other parts I was scared (I dream in story form, don't know if anyone else does either...) But anyways, at the parts where I was stressed or angry, I kept seeing her out of the corner of my eye. And at one point where I was super scared, she was next to me and took my hand and held it until whatever was scaring me was gone.
Those bits where Haly was around are all I remember of the dream.
And when I awoke, I had this peace in my heart like I hadn't had in a while. I'm not going to lie, the few nights before that dream where really hard for me (I cried a bit). It's the time of year. But I'm not sure of what to make of this dream. Was it "from" Haly (per say), reminding me of how she's there? Or was it just from the fact that I have been upset the past few nights. I'm not sure. All I know is that besides these questions, I haven't been as upset since the dream.
The Spirit world is often a topic of discussion around the Bice dinner table, once the kids are done and have run off to play. There is so much we don't understand, but we take what we do have to try to feel comfort, especially this time of year.
I will never stop baring my testimony of how I know families can be together forever. It is a much as a comfort to me as it was the day Grandma Arlene passed away as has been the past two years. Knowing that Haly will be with her parent's and older siblings has always warmed my heart, but now it makes me ecstatic. I always thought that I went thought such a hard time when we lost Haly so I could be prepared for it to happen in MY family...but now I see it was because it was happening to my family; no one knew it yet though.
The gospel is so true!!
