Ok. Have to get ready for work....

So many...

...cupcakes. Its not even cool.

Sure, I was the one who found the cupcake wedding cake thing on line and said I WANT IT!!
And then Carolyne said, I'LL MAKE IT!!
This was all...oh, 4 months ago?

So last night I wake up and text Mike, FREAKING out because the tower for the cupcakes and cake hasn't been made yet. He said he'd talk to his dad about it in the morning. But I asked Jan first when I woke up. She said "No, I thought we'd build it Saturday morning on our way to the temple..."
Geez.

See, I like to think that I'm not freaking out. No, not publicly, anyways (insomnia, remember?). So, in the day time, I let other people freak out for me. Smooth, huh? People keep asking, "are you nervous?"
Nooo...I don't think so?
Nervous to get married. No.
Nervous that everything will go okay? Ooooh yeah.

It all really seems so surreal.

Anyways, where was I?
Oh yes.
CUPCAKES.

Today, we made 440 cupcakes. The time span went from about 10am to 4pm. Jan started it off, Jess picked up after lunch but when Jess had to start making the boxes to store said cupcakes in the freezer, I took over from about 12-4.
I never want to see another cupcake...until Saturday evening.

Only 4 more days!!
Mike and I are looking into getting this teeny tiny house down the road from my parents, with help from my parents. We're the only ones who have even been remotely interested (in the 3 months its been for rent) and I'm hoping we hear back from the realtor soon so we can start moving in BEFORE Saturday.
Our own place!! I'm so excited!! :)
Four days...I'm even more excited!!

So...I think...

I think I blog a lot. But that's okay.
I like to think someone out there reads it and gets to smile every now and then.

So, Tuesday was my big 2-0. I'm now 20.
I will now NOT be a teenage bride...ha! I win.

Anyways, I awoke that morning to find 20 red roses on the table next to my bed from Mike. Yes...I think I'm marrying a winner too :)
But the best gift came that afternoon at lunch with my Aunt Kir: it is a blue star sapphire, which is more purple than anything. The best part is that was my Grandma Arlene Wood's. Grandma passed away when I was 12. I love it...I wear it every day and I have a piece of her with me at all times. Kir said she was going to give it to me when I turned 21 or when I got married. And since my 20th birthday was only 10 days away from my wedding, I got it then :)


To add to that, in preparation for the wedding (8 days, people!!!), I went and got my nails done for the first time today. I love them....but it's hard to type this, haha. Alisha Andrews has been doing the Purkhiser/Kiker/Bice nails for about 5 years now so I knew my fingers were in good hands. They are currently white for the wedding but I can wait to experiment with colors in the future :)


That's all the news. Like I said before...8 days!! 8 days 21 hours and some odd change to go!! If you couldn't tell...
I CAN'T WAIT :)

So, we are missing two very important things...
...with a wedding now 12 days away.
Flowers? Check
Photographer? Check
Places? Check
Food? Check
Center pieces? Check
Tux and dress?

(Please note the "Top Gun" reference...I'm marrying a navy brat)

Because my dress did not come with sleeves on, I forked out the arm and leg to pay to get sleeves put on it. Friday the 19th was the day to go get it, but the alterations lady called and asked if we could come in Saturday. Sure, why not? We were going to be in Reno anyways.
Saturday, after the temple, my mom and I go to David's Bridal and are shown into a fitting room to wait...and wait...and wait. 10 minutes later, we find out that my dress ISN'T DONE.
Did I cry? No
Throw a fit? No
I think I was in shock
WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY DRESS ISN'T DONE????
I paid an extra 500 to get it temple ready and you tell me it's taking longer than you thought?

HEY, DAVID'S BRIDAL, I HAVE AN IDEA!! YOU KNOW THOSE MODEST DRESSES YOU HAVE IN SLC AND UTAH VALLEY? YEAH...YOU SHOULD PUT THEM IN ALL THE STORES IN CITY'S WITH LDS TEMPLES...JUST A THOUGHT!!

Mom and I go back tomorrow to get it...hopefully.
But I'm ready to start asking for money back.
Like, seriously.

Mike is getting his tux Friday with this giant trip to Reno to also get Jan and Jessica and the nieces dresses. 8 days before the wedding? That's cutting it a tad close for my heart. I start to hyperventilate just thinking about it...

I just keep reminding my self that in 12 days, 9 hours and some odd change, all this craziness with be done with the result being wonderful. Screw the skeptics, I hear that being married is amazing...I can't wait :)

14 days!! That's about all I can say because if I think too much on it, I get flustered and my head starts to hurt but it's all in a good way!!

Today, I got to go through the temple and then see my dear friend, Candice Miller
(oops, sorry...CANDICE LYNES!!) get married.
A wonderful girl found a great guy and I wish for them all the happiness in the world!!

I made one post, but hit the italisize button on accident and then it wouldn't UNitalizis. Rude.
Anyways...

You may have noticed that I added music to my blog
And that each song is a love song. Well, this is because they are all songs that remind me of Mike and I. Thus, the lovey dovey-ness of it all :)
How can I have a blog without music? ME? I love to sing. And I kinda play the piano. My Junior and Senior years in Choir are the only reasons I would EVER go back to high school. Seriously.

So, I now digress...we are only 24 days away from THE DAY. And here is a cute little story to tide us over: The other night I was sitting next to Mike on the couch; it was around midnight and he was almost asleep. Me, on the other hand, I was bouncing off the walls, my mind going a mile and minutes because I had my first Mnt Dew in a week that night (yes, I slipped, but haven't since). Anyways, I was counting the days the from my birthday (august 23) until the wedding (september 3rd). I think it's 11 days but anyways, I got so excited for some reason I clapped my hands and started bouncing on the couch and made this noise that apparently sounded like a dalphin. And, it woke Mike up. He thought something was seriously wrong/very confused and after everything calmed down, he informed me "no more caffeine for you...ever."

Oops, haha :)

This evening...

...was my bridal shower. And it went off pretty well.
Granted, there was a bit of yelling and stressing as we tried to get the food, cupcakes and tent ready. But once everything was ready and people started showing up, it went better than I thought! Even though people had RSVPed, I had decided no one was going to show up anyways. Ha...silly me! We played a few impromptu games, since non had been planned. And the gifts were wonderful, thank you so much to everyone!


You'd think that will less than a month to go, it would start to sink in that I'M GETTING MARRIED!! But you know what? I'm not stressing the marriage part. Nope, not one bit. Mike and I are a perfect match; I really couldn't have asked for a better guy to help balance out the rest of my life.

Perhaps I'm a tad numb. People keep asking me if I'm nervous or anxious. I must just look like I am, because I don't really feel that way.


Anyways, big thanks also to Mama Bice, Carolyne and Jessica. They're wonderful and they're doing so much to help that I feel so guilty. But despite how...interesting...the Bice's can be, I'm marring into a great family

Found them on-line, couldn't find them in Reno, so I had to order them.

And they came today!!

I bought purple laces to go with them but I'm not sure I like that color purple with the silver of the shoes, so I'll probably use the white laces that came with...and now I have a pair of random purple laces. Hmmmm...

I don't know when else I'll wear them but I have them, they are mine and they make me oh so happy!!!

Kinda like how Mike makes me happy, except not as much because these are just shoes and Mike will be my husband...

IN ONE MONTH!!!!

I am bouncing out of my skin with excitement ♥

...nieces!!
(turns out they were not just a figment of this family's imagination)
...AND....an employed fiance!!! Whoooo-hoooo!!!

Ok, my nieces are adorable. They keep telling me that they "almost missed me". I guess you can't completely miss someone you've never met, ha. Bekah is the youngest (4) and she's just so cute and has this ATTITUDE!! (But it's adorable when she puts her hands on her hips and says "listen, auntie Aubrey...")

Morgan is 6, going on 7, and is super sweet and CRAZY smart. I love both of them. However, after being woken up by Carolyne's scared Pomeranian this morning, followed by Bekah, demanding that I give her breakfast at 6:30am, I told Mike "Find us our own house...NOW"

Because....we can totally do that!!
Well, not "now" (nor can we move in there together yet) but soon!! (but....not soon enough...we now have Mama and Papa Bice, me, Mike, Jessica, Morgan, Bekah, 3 dogs here full time and Carolyne, Chistopher and Stella here part time...yes, it's crazy. And I love almost every moment) Anyways, Brother Boonie, from our ward, needed workers and Mike got all over that and the end result is employment!
What will he do you ask? Well, how to explain this...
You know those nice mobile homes? Like, the pre-built, double wides that take two semi-trucks to trasport? Well, Mike will be following the ones in Nevada to help but them on their foundations.
Yeah...who knew that would be such a high paying job?
Down side? He'll be gone Sunday night to Friday afternoon.
Up side? It's now possible for me to now go to CNA class from 8am-4pm

Wait...I'm going to take a 8am to 4pm class AND work?
Are you high?!?!
I quit the Holiday Inn Express last week.
(Carolyne quit a month ago and it kinda went all the way down to hell in a hand bag from there)
I don't want to get into WHY, because it's behind us all now...and I will NEVER stay in one ever. Kinda like how I refuse to shop at Macy's. Every time we drive by my mind screams "SCREW YOU!!"
Feels good :)

We are 37 days (!!) away from a wedding.

A wedding, which, mind you, is almost totally done
(as far as planning goes)

Dress--needs sleeves added. Alterations appointment on Thursday
Flowers--will be ordered when Mama Bice gets home with my nieces
Bridal shower--all our planning is done, (now it's Carolyne and Jessica's problem, haha)
Place--Large Sealing room reserved, as well as the Taylor Building
Announcements--mailed as soon as Jan get back from S.C.
Pictures--Kade Schank saves the day!!
Reception--75% done, all that's left is making it all come together.

Whooo!!

My mom says I went around this the hard way. I guess she hardly had a hand in any of the planning? But this day is all about me, me, me
(oh yeah, and Mike).
So it's going to go off the way I, I, I want it :)

Other small details:
Molly Moser is my official brides maid (Jess and Carolyne are unofficial/sisterly bridesmaids)
Chris Kiker Jr is the Man of Honor (he's 9 and the only nephew)
My bouquet is going to be white roses and purple calla lilies :)

It's going to be a crazy, crazy day!!
and I can't wait!!
